Guided by independent experts and evidence-based research, we are committed to delivering the best-possible level of support to players at all levels of the sport, both for men and women,” said Beaumont. “World Rugby is leading the way in concussion and in all aspects of player welfare with several other governing bodies looking to us and what we have achieved as examples of best practice for them to implement in their own codes. As with all contact sports, there is always a risk of sustaining an injury while playing rugby but through prevention, management, education, monitoring and research, we can mitigate that risk and make the sport as safe as possible.”So far, the World Rugby Passport site has received more than 10 million visits with 20,000 people having completed the online first aid and pitch-side courses and nearly 32,000 having completed the online concussion education course across all four modules, including concussion public, concussion doctor, match-day medical staff and elite match-day medical staff. In addition, World Rugby has a network of more than 230 trainers and educators delivering medical courses in all six regional associations around the world.
